Dylan Williams

Dylan Williams is a dear friend of ours and talented artist who splits his time between Brooklyn and Guanajuato, Mexico.  His most recent solo exhibition was "Soundscapes" at the Museo Diego Rivera in Guanajuato in March of 2016.

Dylan Williams was born in Guanajuato, México. He attended the school of plastic arts at the University of Guanajuato. After discovering his inclination for painting, he moved to New York City in 1991 where he attended The Art Students League and developed his attraction for urban and natural landscapes. Dylan has exhibited his work in numerous museums and galleries in the US and Mexico.

Dylan's work is light driven, with a painterly vocabulary. The subject matter is firmly grounded, directly-observed life and yet is somehow alien, almost magical. It allows for objectivity while crossing into the territory of surreal and abstract painting.

His most recent work, through the use of watercolor and encaustic techniques, explores new possibilities of representing a landscape as an abstract idea directly associated with music and sound, painting in such a manner similar to that employed by a composer.
