Derek Weisberg

Sculptor

Derek creates works, which are emotional and psychological self-portraits.Though his art he is able to make sense of his life, experiences and the times in which he lives. In 2006 after the passing of his own mother, he began to explore the themes of death, afterlife, spirituality and the metaphysical. To experience death is to experience the most unique situation in life; it is simultaneously completely familiar and alien, definitive and confusing, guaranteed and mysterious. Derek's work is a combination and slow digestion of all these dualities and subtleties.
